All U10 - U14
teams who achieve 30 volunteer points will advance to the Beach Cup '09 playoffs. The teams that win the Beach Cup will move on to the Area playoffs in January. In many cases (U10 for sure) our region gets to send two teams, and in that case, the team that finishes in second place in the Beach Cup will also advance to the Area playoffs. We will know in the next few weeks which divisions get to send two teams – again U10 will send two team for sure.

So, how do you qualify for the Beach Cup? Volunteer Points! Below is a breakdown of how points may be accumulated:

Requirement: 30 points

Coaches (3 points MAX)
2 points for being age appropriate certified (U10, U12 or Intermediate for U14)
1 point for being Safe Haven Certified (this is a one time requirement – if you’ve taken this in the past you’re good to go)
Sorry – no points for assistant coaches although they MUST sign a volunteer form and should be safe haven and age appropriate certified as well.

Ref Certification (4 points MAX)
2 points for each certified ref – if they already hold some level of certification AND ref a game for your team
2 points for each ref who becomes certified AND refs a game for your team

Ref Point Transfer (7 points MAX)

Teams may obtain a total of 7 points from a referee who is not affiliated with a team. These points should only be used for those teams who are in danger of not making Beach Cup playoffs and these points will not count towards referee rewards reimbursements.

Go to "Referee Info" for a list of local ref classes. Each attendee should login to eayso.org and register for these classes (login to eayso.org and go to Lookup-Course and enter in roster #) to ensure that they get the proper credit. As always, when working with another region, please also retain your certificate at the end of the class in case the records don’t get updated properly.
