What does it mean to be Affiliated:

  2. The referee is a coach or assistant coach for the team
  3. A player/family has recruited a new volunteer/referee that has had no prior volunteer association to Region 34. 7/8U and 16/19U teams do not play in Beach Cup. 16/19U teams will play in a season-end Area Tournament and are required to earn the same number of referee points as 14U.

Teams that do not fulfill these requirements will not participate in Beach Cup, regardless of their win/loss record in regular season play.

Points are earned primarily by refereeing games. Other ways to earn points for Beach Cup qualification include:
  • Recruiting New Referees (up to 3 points per new referee) – Teams will be awarded one bonus point for each new referee that attends Regional Referee training and referees one game. One additional bonus point can be earned for refereeing a second and third game, to a maximum of three points per new referee. These points are earned in addition to normal referee match points
  • There may be additional volunteer opportunities set forth by the region as needs arise. Coaches of teams having difficulty qualifying for Beach Cup should contact their Division Captain for more information.
